Wisconsin Teen Driver Requirements

Required Steps

  • Complete 30 hours classroom driver's education
  • 6 hours behind-the-wheel, 6 hours observation
  • Pass written knowledge test at DMV
  • Hold permit for minimum 6 months

  • Pass road skills test at DMV

Probationary License Restrictions

  • One passenger under 20 (first 9 months)
